My mother told me a couple of weeks ago that she was sending me a "gift" that was sure to please. She would give no hints. She only told me that if I didn't like it or want it, that she would not have hurt feelings if I wanted to send it back for something else.
I was like, "ok, mom. I'm sure it's fine, but ok."
Then, yesterday while on a blogger luncheon, this was being delivered to my home:
Yeah, yeah, I know it's not a great pic, but I used my phone and I was also shaking like a leaf when I took it! I was BESIDE myself that my mother actually got this for ME!! She's known forever how much I've wanted a Dyson but she also knows that I'd never have the willpower to put that much money towards a vacuum cleaner when I could be spending it on shoes or clothes!
I'm pretty darn fanatical about keeping clean floors. It's one thing I cannot stand to be around - dirty floors, carpets, etc.
When I called my mom to thank her profusely for the gift, she told me that I am the greatest mother in the world and that she knows how hard I work at giving my best to the job of being a mom. Words that were even more meaningful than the gift!
Anyway, I am so appreciative that she splurged on this for me and I couldn't wait till today to power it on. As I opened the box up to take out all the parts, I was singing the lyrics to Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" while my 4 year-old looked at me like I was crazy.
I was like, "Dude, who cares! You got a Dyson!" Remember that Dell guy on the old commercials ("Dude, you're gettin' a Dell!")? That's what it totally reminded me of!
So, I'm having a ball with my new Dyson ball. It is a DREAM!! Thank you, mommy!
