We’re in the midst of flu season and a new year full of healthcare changes for many of our friends and family members. Couple that with all of the medical and insurance lingo out there, and it is enough to confuse and drive people crazy! My dad {age 60}, who has his fair share of health bouts recently {and is still in the process of learning more about his ailments}, is a Medicare recipient. And although he’s not yet eligible for Medicare Part D benefits, it is nice to know about this program so we can help him plan for the future.
So what is Medicare Part D? In short, it provides a way for any person {such as your grandparents/abuelos} who is currently receiving benefits on Medicare, a way to receive prescription drug benefits, regardless of health history or the number of prescriptions you are on. The program also allows you the convenience of transferring prescriptions to a designated pharmacy.
This is where the wonderful Walgreens peeps come in.
Talk to your family members who are currently receiving Medicare benefits about Medicare Part D and switching their prescriptions to their favorite local Walgreens locations, adelante! By doing this, they’ll potentially save on Medicare Part D copays. Additionally, they’ll be setting themselves up for receiving the complete pharmacy care that they need. Check out all of the benefits the older adults in your family will have when they switch their Medicare Part D benefits to Walgreens:
- They’ll be able to refill prescriptions online, get refill reminders, track immunizations & more.
- They’ll SAVE with copays as low as $0 on select plans.
- They’ll have expert advice on all their medication questions 24/7 with their new Pharmacy Chat feature.
- Walgreens will help them stay on track with their medication via refill reminders & automatic prescription refills, and could help them pay for medications.
If your family members have Medicare Part D, talk to them about switching and saving with Walgreens!
