It’s exercise time. Time to hit the gym hard and work up a sweat. After all, you’ve got to feel the burn to improve your health and fitness. Actually, it’s a huge myth which women buy into for some reason. It’s as if walking out of the gym or being carried out on a stretcher means you’re burning calories and hitting your targets.

In reality, working out is about being smart. The ladies who are productive when they pump iron or hit the treadmill are the ones who look fantastic. For those looking for inspiration, here are four kickass ways to be a smart gym bunny.

4 Kickass Ways To Workout Smarter, Not Harder

Get Motivated

The term “going through the motions” applies to the people that can’t be bothered. You see them exercising, yet they aren’t giving it their all or trying to burn off fat. They lack motivation and their workout suffers as a result. We all go through stages where we can’t move from the sofa. So, dragging your ass to the gym is a victory in itself. But, to ensure you use your time wisely, you should give the body a shot of adrenaline. Upping your Tongkat Ali dosage is one way to do this as it contains testosterone, or you can have a cup of coffee. Caffeine and a power nap is the ultimate combination.

Dodge Distractions

An average gym junkie uses their phone while they workout. Unless it’s for music, then it’s a terrible idea. The fact that you think you will call a person back after a session is a sign of your delusion. Odds are you’ll try and get out of the conversation but will end up speaking for thirty minutes. Afterward, there is a lack of motivation as you’re out of the zone and you’ll quit and go home. If you use your cell, start a playlist and then set it to airplane mode. Or, swap your phone for an iPod.

Don’t Rush

As in, don’t go to the gym during rush hour. The people who turn up at 7am or 6pm are the ones who don’t suffer from self-confidence issues. They are always lifting weights or doing cardio and couldn’t care less who watches. Plus, they’ll happily butt in and ask to use a certain machine. If this isn’t you, then avoid putting yourself in a sticky situation. Instead, go earlier or later to bypass the throngs of meatheads in tight vests looking to get their pump on. Or, save it for a weekend when there is more flexibility.

Plan Your Goals

Do this before every session. It may be something as simple as “I will do twenty-minutes of cardio today.” Or, you can up the ante and add in a timeslot for weightlifting and yoga too. Regardless, setting targets lets you mold your workout to your mood. When you’re not feeling it, just keep it basic and straightforward. At least the body is active and not sitting on the sofa watching TV.

Are you a smart gym-goer or are you a workhorse?
